Let me introduce you to the new Coordinator of Marketing & Promotions for the University of Rhode Island Athletics Department...ME :) I got the call last night at 7:32pm from a very complimentary and enthusiastic Gregg Burke, Deputy Director of Athletics, who will soon be my new boss.
I'm very excited and thankful that this opportunity fell through for me. It's been a difficult few months, with a lot of searching, anticipation, STRESS and reflection. Well, now I can say that is has been worth it. I am extremely happy and know that this position will be a great one for me at this point in my life - the staff that I met and interviewed with were absolutely fantastic and the entire atmosphere was very inviting, positive and enthusiastic.
It will be tough moving away from this place that I have called home for the past 17 months, but I know this move is going to bring a lot of good things to me, and soon enough I am sure that I will be able to call the South County of Rhode Island my new home.
